About the work
This contemplative piece shows two figures seated side by side on a blue rail, one in shadow and one in glowing gold, as the brighter figure paints a smile onto the other. A small bird watches from a distance, and the contrast of light and dark invites reflection on empathy, the masks we wear, and the ways we try to lift those beside us.
