About me
What we hide often reveals who we are. Between the visible and the unseen, my figures emerge from colour, distortion and emotion. What do you see beneath the surface?

About the artist
Born in Kerman, Iran, 1973
Anahita Iranmanesh has been painting since 1987. Beyond the painting courses of high school and university, she studied in the studios of Mohammad Hojabri Ebrahimi and Mohammad Emam in Kerman.
Starting with realism, she worked her way through different schools of art to contemporary modern painting by 2000, and since 2018 she has been devoted to developing an abstract language of her own.
Her works centre on the emotional dialogue between colour, movement and inner experience.
My abstract works are shaped by the emotional and social events surrounding me. Influenced by Bahman Mohassess, I explore the human figure beyond gender, through expressive forms, colours and movements. My process begins with improvisation, allowing ideas rooted in life experiences to evolve naturally across the canvas.
I seek to engage viewers who approach painting as a narrative — those who explore, interpret and construct meaning within abstraction.
All films →Every person lives between two faces: the one they show the world, and the one they keep in silence. Drawing on study and on watching how people behave, I try to reach a layer beyond the personality that is on show. For me, painting is a search to bring that hidden part to light.
I find my subjects in the people I see — in their behaviour, their reactions and their silences. Sometimes the faces I paint are hidden behind a mask that contradicts them.
What we hide often reveals who we really are. Between the visible and the unseen, my figures emerge from colour, distortion and emotion. I paint what cannot always be spoken.
